Job Description

To maintain the serviceability and accuracy of all the factory plant, machine tools and equipment, in a Multi-Skilled capacity.

This position is based at our Newton Abbot, UK facility and will report to the Maintenance Team Leader.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to machine breakdowns
• Investigate faults and action repair work, with the aid of maintenance computer data systems where appropriate
• Strip, overhaul and repair all types of machine tools, plant and equipment
• Record all breakdowns with faults, parts used, actions and times
• Check and test M/C’s on completion of repair work or PM’s
• Effective liaison with production and hand over of work
• Install and commission machinery
• Manufacture parts in support of the maintenance and guarding of machinery
• Carry out various electrical fault finding, repair and installation tasks within personal capability:
o Connect and disconnect supplies for equipment and M/C moves, test circuits and components, e.g. solenoids, motors etc.
o Interpret wiring diagrams etc. plus carry out electrical preventative maintenance work, and be able to use various testing instruments
• Test and ensure all safety systems are working correctly
• Comply with maintenance PM system and to advise on changes to programme, frequency, scope of work etc.
• Overhaul equipment for spares
• Write basic programmes to test CNC m/c systems
• Assist with training of others assigned to the department
• Carry out other duties compatible with this job and employee’s individual skill as required by management


Job Requirements

• Prioritising of workload to ensure minimum production ‘downtime’
• Keeping up with changes in technology
• BTEC National Certificate or City & Guilds – Mechanical or Electrical
• Higher Level Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (desirable)
• External training in multi-skilled maintenance to an approved standard followed by the successful completion of an on site consolidation scheme and logbook
• Manual handling training
• Mechanical or Electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience
• Machine tool experience (desirable)
• Up to date knowledge of electrical regulations
• Ability to read drawings and manuals to aid repair and service
• Health and Safety

We are currently seeking housekeeping associates to join our busy manufacturing engineering firm. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining our offices, factory and canteen.

Task:

• Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and moping surfaces in the work area, toilets, kitchens and meeting rooms
• Refilling cleaning supplies and toiletries (Handwash, toilet paper and air fresheners)
• Washing kitchen napkins, floor rags and dusters
• Maintaining cleaning products in a timely manner
• Disposing on refuse (on site)
• Conducting monthly disinfecting and deep cleaning

Job Description

To manage the Value Stream to which allocated ensuring that production plans are scheduled and met in order to meet customer demands. To lead continuous improvements in production processes and in the employees under their control. Manage financial and KPI performance production capacity, resource and machines, production quality, scrap, rework and returns HSE, asset care and equipment problems and new technology. NPI. To ensure that production procedures meet required safety, environmental, cost, delivery, quality and manning standards.


Key Responsibilities
• Manage all aspects of the Value Stream to which allocated ensuring that end to end work flow is maintained in accordance with agreed standards, measures and deliverables.
• Lead and motivate all employees under their control in order to promote continuous improvement in individual and process activities.
• Coach, develop, appraise, performance manage, discipline employees under their control, identify skills needs, develop training plans and implement.
• Ensure all health, safety, environmental standards are met and maintained, identifying risk and implementing improvements where required.
• Ensure that work requirements are planning and met including availability of resource and manning, monitor production performance, analyse results and develop and implement necessary improvement plans as necessary. Consumables and materials.
• Manage all resources within allocated area, ensuring most effective and efficient use of manpower, equipment and consumables in order to meet production demands.
• Work with logistics to agree and implant work and capacity plan for cells within area
• Develop and implement capacity plan for cells, working with other functions as required eg Logistics, continuously monitor progress against plan
• Lead area continuous improvement activities and be up to date with latest techniques and procedures.
• Ensure management of standard work through: CI, Pulse Meetings, KPIs
• Responsible for financial results of area, cost control, P&L and budget. Understand how production performance impacts on financial results and develop improvements to meet or exceed financial targets. Monitor and report on financial performance
• Develop and manage long/short term production planning activities in relation to manpower, resource, machine capacity, OEE, customer requirements.
• Identify improvements through value stream mapping, develop and implement supporting and coaching T/Ls.
• Responsible for developing and implementing project improvement plans.
• Responsible for delivering value stream production to agreed KPIs
• Take proactive role to ensure smooth NPI
• Identify and recommend asset improvements and use of new technology in order to achieve improvements to cost, quality and production processes.
• Identify and develop improvements to production processes, liaising with other departments and functions to implement change in order to improve on cost control, quality and productivity.
• Ensure maintenance of front line asset care
• Lead implementation and sustainability of TPM
• Responsible for recovery when deviating from plan
• Ensure regular team communication delivery results and improvement opportunities, develop and implement appropriate changes.
• Understand how to balance production in order to achieve optimum use of manpower, time, equipment and resources within cost restraints.

Job Requirements
• Educated to degree level or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills and ability to prioritise and meet conflicting demands
• Previous experience of managing teams comprising a diverse mix of skills and experience
• Good understanding of CI and lean management techniques and processes
